Marcia Claesson
Marcia Claesson is a freelance writer living in Lincoln, Nebraska. She writes regularly for the Lincoln Journal-Star, L Magazine, Women's Edition, Lincoln 55 Plus, and Lincoln Kids. Her fiction stories have been published in Country Woman, the Kids Ark and Pockets magazine webpage. She also writes a blog for Licorice International. She especially enjoys helping senior citizens write personal memoirs for their families.
Marcia homeschools two teenage daughters and is active in the local homeschool community. She writes the e-mail newsletter for Heartland Home Schoolers, a local homeschool support group and teaches classes to local homeschoolers in writing, tree identification and the Iditarod. She is a member of two local writers groups, the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, the Lincoln Scrabble Club, and volunteers as a greeter for her church. She often has a camera in her hand and loves to go on photo jaunts with her family, focusing on old barns, hidden gems in random neighborhoods, and the beauty of the changing seasons in Nebraska.
In recent years, Marcia has become obsessed with following sled-dog racing on-line. Her family knows not to plan anything during the first three weeks of March, when Marcia spends long hours glued to the computer following race updates from the Iditarod.
